A Fictional story written by Farounbi Segun Samuel (Stam) and edited by Teniola Rachael Ololade
PROLOGUE
Truly ‘’No one knows Tomorrow’’ but treating everyone’s right is very crucial and paramount because in as much as people breath, there is always hope for a better tomorrow in them.
However, being at your apex already doesn’t mean you will be there forever. Always remember that the life of a king doesn’t last forever, therefore, never use power or authority over people because their ‘’present situation isn’t their final destination’’.

Episode 1 Scene 1
Emmanuel was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Adenuga since he was been abandoned by his own mother to the dustbin side.
Mr. and Mrs. Adenuga are the parents of Tunde, Bisi, and Titi, while Emmanuel is an adopted child to them. Despite that Emmanuel wasn’t their child he is still the eldest among Mr. and Mrs. Adenuga’s children.
However, they are not both interested in Emmanuel’s education after secondary school, as he (Emmanuel) was told to face farming with his adopted father after his WAEC paper (Mr. Adenuga).
Immediately after his last paper, Emmanuel walks under the school tree to sit as he ponders on what to do next.
UNDER THE SCHOOL TREE
Emmanuel: Oh my God! I'm finally done with WAEC exam now, what next? (He asked himself as he sits under the tree pondering)
He continues pondering as his friend's (Femi and Shola) cited him from afar.
Femi: Is that not Emmanuel sitting alone under the tree? (points towards the direction where Emmanuel is)
Shola: he’s the one oh!
Femi: Ah! Why?
Shola: Maybe he didn’t write the exam well, I think
They approach Emmanuel, while Femi speaks.
Femi: Emmanuel! Emmanuel!! How far nah? (He asked in Pidgin English as he wanted to have a shake with him)
Emmanuel: Am good
Shola: Why are you sitting here all alone hope all is well?
Emmanuel: All is well indeed!
Femi: If all is well, so why are you sitting here all alone instead of you to be outside the exam hall waiting for us as we usually do.
Shola: Wait Emmanuel! hope you wrote the exam well?
Emmanuel: I'm sorry for that Femi
Yes, I did it well
Shola: If you did the exam well, why are you sitting here all alone pondering?
You know that we’ve promised ourselves that after today’s paper which is the last for secondary school days we would be having some celebration for it
Femi: I wonder! Now that we ought to be at the celebration ground you’re here thinking (He faces Emmanuel)
Emmanuel: My friends am deeply sorry ,if there’s no reason for this, I will not be here thinking.
Femi: Emmanuel what's the problem?
Shola: I think it must be very serious for him to be here thinking alone.
Emmanuel: I’m thinking about my life (He disclose) Am thinking about what I’ll be doing next after secondary school
Femi: Won’t you be going to the university?
Emmanuel: I’ll like to go but who will sponsor me?
Shola: Who will sponsor you as how? Don’t you have parents again?
Femi: Am baffled as well oh!
Emmanuel: I have parents
Shola: When you have, why thinking about it?
Femi: Emmanuel what's wrong? (He moves more closer to him)
Emmanuel: They said they’re not in support of my education, they want me to go into farming just like my father, they said my sibling’s education is more paramount to them than mine.
Femi: Your sibling’s education is more important to them than yours? (Baffles)
Shola: Aren't they your real parents?
Femi: I'm not sure
Emmanuel: Yes, They are
Shola: If they’re, why will they have to say such to you?
Emmanuel: That’s the reason why I'm also confused
Femi: Have you tried to ask them their reason for saying that?
Shola: Seriously, this looks like a movie to me (Uses his hand to brushes his face to know if their discussion is real)
Emmanuel: I tried asking my mum but she never pays attention to me
Shola: Ah! Ah!! Ah!!! (Stun) Someone should please tell me this conversation isn’t real?
Femi: This is really serious oh!
Shola: Serious indeed!
Emmanuel: Can you now see the reason why I need to think about my next steps since am done with my final exam
Shola: Seriously, you really need to think about it
Femi: Emmanuel, what steps do you plan to take?
Emmanuel: I'm planning of working to earn money, and maybe after that i would be able to sponsor myself to higher institution
Femi: That's a good idea, Am in full support of it
Shola: So, where do you think to work?
Emmanuel: I'm thinking of going to Lagos to work.
Femi: That's a good idea
Shola: Ah! Really!! I'll miss you Emmanuel when you leave. I’ll not have the privilege to see you daily again
Femi: (laughs) This is Emmanuel’s race for achievement let him go for it
Emmanuel: Thanks friend, you are indeed supportive friend’s. I promise to always have you in mind.
Femi: Thanks Emmanuel, I wish you success in all your endeavours in life as you take steps.
Emmanuel: Amen thanks Femi.
Shola: Always remember we your friends
Emmanuel: Sure why won’t i. You are indeed wonderful
Femi: Emmanuel hope you aren't thinking any longer?
Emmanuel: Not at all
Femi: Okay then, Can we now go for the celebration?
Emmanuel: Yes of course, we can!
They walk towards the celebration ground smiling and laughing, Femi’s hand is on Emmanuel's shoulder, as they move till the curtain falls!
Episode 1 Scene 2
AT NIGHT
Emmanuel is sitting with his parents in the sitting room having a chat with him. Mr. Adenuga speaks.
Mr. Adenuga: How are you Emmanuel?
Emmanuel: I'm fine sir
Mr. Adenuga: How was your exam?
Emmanuel: We thank God sir
Mr. Adenuga: I want to discuss with you
Emmanuel: Okay sir
Mr. Adenuga: Since you’re done with your education, I and your mother suggest you go into farming with me or what's your own observation?
Emmanuel: Thanks sir, you said well sir, but I'II suggest to go and work to earn money
Mrs. Adenuga: To go and work?
Emmanuel: Yes ma. To sponsor myself to school since you never show parental concern about my education.
Mr. Adenuga: Is there no wealth in farming?
Emmanuel: There is sir!
Mrs. Adenuga: School? (replies Emmanuel's suggestion)
Emmanuel: yes ma!
Mr. Adenuga: How many times have I warned you not to say things concerning education. Cross education away from your mind and focus on farming?
Mrs. Adenuga: Emmanuel we are your parents, we know what’s good for you.
Emmanuel: I think that since you both refused to give to me the best legacy which is to be given to a child, that is the reason why i thought of acquiring it myself
Mr. Adenuga: What is the best legacy?
Emmanuel: Education sir!
Mrs. Adenuga: If education is the best legacy, what's my property then?
Mr. Adenuga: So leaving my house and farmland for you to take over is not a legacy?
Emmanuel: It is but education supersede all sir.
Mr. Adenuga: My final decision as a father to you is that i don’t want you to think of going to school. Leave education for your siblings to take over, play your own role to support them as the head
Mrs. Adenuga: Simple, just face farming with your father, there’s more wealth there than you wasting money for schooling
Emmanuel: I'm deeply sorry to ask sir, why aren't you interested in me going to school?
Mr. Adenuga: Good question and God bless you for that tremendous question. Since you know that you’re the first child of the family, Your responsibility is to stay home and take good care of home and my farm, in my presence and after when I'm gone to the great beyond.
Emmanuel: Okay sir, but I'm not interested in farming work
Mrs. Adenuga: If you insist on not working as a farmer, how will you be able to make it. Do know that farmer's are rich?
Emmanuel: I'll go and strive hard in Lagos. I do believe that in God and in my hustle, I’ll surely rise above limit.
Mrs. Adenuga: Well, Since you decided to go against my advice and your father’s advice, we've heard you, but I'll let you know that you will not be the one to take care of us.
Mr. Adenuga: Tell him; let him know. Your siblings will be the one's to take care of us.
Emmanuel: No problem sir/ma. I want you to know that there's God
Mr. Adenuga: There is God? Who are you to tell me if there is God or not?
Mrs. Adenuga: To be candid with you Emmanuel, nothing good can come out of you
Emmanuel: Thanks ma for telling me that. With God all things are possible and since there's life, there is still hope for me.
Emmanuel stands and walks into his room immediately he finishes speaking.
AT THE SITTING ROOM
Emmanuel leaves to his room, Mr. and Mrs. Adenuga continue speaking as Emmanuel is inside listening to their conversation.
Mr. Adenuga: See as that bastard child walks out of me
Mrs. Adenuga: Never mind him
Mr. Adenuga: Since the day you picked him up from the dustbin side where he was disposed by his parent, I knew nothing good can come out of him
Imagine, look at him walking away from me while I'm still on seat.
Mrs. Adenuga: I'm sorry dear
Mr. Adenuga: I wonder why you picked him up from the dustbin side
Mrs. Adenuga: I'm sorry dear, it wasn’t my fault, If not that i was still barren then while will i have to pick him up
Mr. Adenuga: No problem dear, I understand.
I’ll never spend a dime on him again, so it won’t be a waste for me .I will rather spend on our own children who will be useful to us in the future.
Mrs. Adenuga: let forget about him, I don’t want him to know that we are not his biological parents, I don't want him depressed.
Emmanuel hears their convo from his room, as he shed tears till the curtain falls!

Emmanuel: Ehn! Ehn!! My friends said it
Emmanuel: So, i was picked up from the dustbin side?
Emmanuel: Those who i called daddy and mummy are not actually my parents
Emmanuel: Who actually are my real parents?
Emmanuel: Where are they?
Emmanuel: Why did they abandon me?
He takes a pause after which he continues
Emmanuel: Is it because they’re not my biological parents they wanted me to become a farmer?
Emmanuel: They never considered of supporting my educational career, not even for once.
Emmanuel: Was that the reason why they asked me to stay at home and inherit their property, instead of making mine? Ah! (stun) Oh my God! (uses his hand to hit his forehead)
Emmanuel: God you all I have gotten now, please show me the way forward(He pleades to God for mercy)
He continues pondering till the curtain falls!

Shola: You don’t mean it?
Femi: Ah! Ah!! Ah!!! Inside this small life and they still have the guts to tell you
Emmanuel: They didn’t tell me, I heard them speaking about it after i had left their presence in annoyance
Shola: Ah! Isn't that the reason why they asked you to go into farmer and then send their own children to school?
Femi: You know i asked you then, if they were truly you real parents
Shola: Do you allow them notice that you’ve already know that they are not actually your real parents?
Emmanuel: I didn’t allow them know about it. I never confronted them as well
Femi: This is serious
Shola: Really serious
Emmanuel: I swear am just baffled
Shola: baffled?
Emmanuel: Yes seriously
Femi: What step will you take now?
Emmanuel: I think I’ll be moving away from home since they don’t care about me
Shola: Where will you be going to?
Emmanuel: I think Lagos will be the preferable place for me, I’ll like to work and sponsor myself to school
Femi: All is well
Emmanuel: Thanks Femi
Shola: If you’re to move when will that be?
Femi: That true
Emmanuel: I think that should be in Two days time
Shola: So fast
Emmanuel: Yes oh!
Femi: Have you planned about this before now?

The court session begins as the court clerk starts with Tunde’s case. Immediately she announces their case, they are all taking to the box. Tunde and his friends file are brought out by the clerk as she reads.
The judge asks both the defence lawyer and the Government lawyer to introduce themselves before the Magistrate court, while Emmanuel introduces himself.
Emmanuel: I’m Emmanuel Mike
Emmanuel: I’m standing as the defence attorney
After he introduced himself, the other lawyer introduces himself as well. Both lawyers speak as the Judge listens.
The two lawyers speak as Emmanuel was capable enough to confuse the judge’s mind with some solid fact.
Hearings from the two lawyers, the judge gives verdict as he speaks
Judge: After hearing from the two lawyers and several evidence shows that Tunde and his friends were guilty of the crime read against them
Judge: My judgement is that (Everyone in court remains silent as he speaks)
Judge: I hereby, sentence Tunde and his friends to Five [5] year imprisonment with hard labour

Meanwhile, Emmanuel is witty enough to have been able to confused the Judge’s mind. Due to his witty ability, the judge was intelligent enough to reduce Tunde’s sentence to 5 years.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER COURT SESSION
Immediately after court, they all walk outside the court as Mr. Adenuga speaks
Mr. Adenuga: Emmanuel, I crowned your effort, you really tried
Emmanuel: All thanks to God

Mr. Adenuga: You know we’re not your biological parents, and we’re sorry for not having the parental concerns over you
Emmanuel: Have forgiven you all already before now, because, if not for what you did to me then how will i be able to get to my apex
If i still have conflict with you, I’ll not have been here standing with you.
Bola: True talk
Mrs. Adenuga: I now believe the adage which says ‘’ No one knows tomorrow’’
Mr. Adenuga: No one knows tomorrow indeed, because if we had known tomorrow, we would’ve treated Emmanuel well just like our child
The children we think we can rely on are wonderings around the street while Tunde is sentence to prison
Emmanuel: It alright Sir.
I’ll like you all to know that,
Everyone is equal before God, never overlook or belittle anyone in life. some may be from a lower background from you, but table can turns around for them tomorrow, so treat everyone's right because’’ No one knows tomorrow’’
If peradventure you already known today back then, i know you would’ve never treated me the way you did, but now i give God the glory
As he finishes speaking he then gives advice as he speaks
Emmanuel: My advice to you all is that truly ‘’No one knows tomorrow’’, people may treat you bad now, but please, never pay back evil with evil when you get to your apex, Now maybe bitter but tomorrow will surely be better
THE END
Treat everyone’s right because ‘’No one knows tomorrow’’. People may treat you bad now, but please, Never pay back evil with evil when you get to your apex, Now maybe bitter but tomorrow will surely be better
