EPISODE 3

                  

Donna is shocked as he meets with Mrs. Vera a few meters to the field. 

Immediately he regains his composure as he greets.

Donna: Good evening ma.

*Mrs. Vera:* Good evening and how are you?

*Donna:* I’m fine ma.

*Mrs. Vera:* Where are you heading to?

*Donna:* My Mom sent me on an errand.

*Mrs. Vera:* Okay, what about Dolce?

*Donna:* She’s at home.

*Mrs. Vera:* No problem, when you get home send my regards to your parents and I’II also be coming over to your house soon.

*Donna:* Alright ma

                      

Mrs. Vera leaves as Donna walks directly to the field.

*ON THE PITCH*

               

Donna arrives to the pitch at exactly 5:10PM and he head’s directly to where Oscar was sitting.

 

*Donna:* How far Oscar?

*Oscar:* Please don’t greet me (Angrily). You’re just coming now, you never keep your promise.

*Donna:* I keep to the time. It was just that I faced some challenges while coming. Please don’t be angry. Meanwhile, when are we starting the match?

*Oscar:* We will be starting now; we are waiting for you to arrive before we could starts because I can’t afford to lose my money on this match. 

*Donna:*  Okay, The star boy is now here (Laughs). Who are those together with us?

*Oscar:* Those guys over there. (Calls out at the guys)

*Donna:* Okay then. Go and tell the opponent team that we’re ready.

                         

Oscar stands as he walks directly to meet their opponent team as the match begins.

                         

However, Oscar also attends the same tutorial with Donna and Dolce. He’s a brilliant and magnificent guy whose plan for his life and future is detailed already.

                          

Whereas, Oscar plays too much just like Donna but what makes him different from Donna was his brilliance. Oscar really plays too much but gives more time to reading at night, and never tells Donna about this. What a secretive thing to do!

                           

Donna's perception about life wasn’t clear enough for him to comprehend because he thinks life is all about playing without a purposeful arrangement for his life and future.

Soon after, the match comes to an end as Oscar's team wins the bet, while Donna was the man of the match. What a beautiful talent!

*AT MRS. VERA’S PLACE*

              

Soliloquizing 

*Mrs. Vera:* WAEC is fast approaching; Donna and Dolce haven’t payed for it.

Will they be missing out from the exam?

Agh! No it’s not possible.

Okay no problem, I think I’II have to go to their house

                      

She stands up immediately, as she dresses and walks directly to their house.

*AT MR. AND MRS. RALPH’S PLACE*

                      

Mrs. Ralph arrives at Donna and Dolce house as she knocks. 

Immediately, Dolce walks to the door to open, though, she was cooking.

                      

She opens the door as Mrs. Vera walks in as she greets.

*Dolce:* Good evening ma.

*Mrs. Vera:* How are you?

*Dolce:* I’m fine ma.

*Mrs. Vera:* What about your parents? Where are they?

*Dolce:* They should be inside in their room.

                      

Immediately Dolce walks inside to call her parents out. However, Donna wasn’t home yet from field.

                     

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph walk to the sitting room as they greet Mrs. Vera. Immediately they finish greeting her they both sit as Dolce goes to the kitchen to continue with her cooking.

*Mrs. Ralph:* What can we offer you ma

*Mrs. Vera:* Nothing ma, thank you

                    

Immediately, discussion begins among them as they speak concerning their upcoming WAEC fee.

*Mrs. Vera:* You haven’t payed for your children's WAEC fees and the exam is slated for next month 

*Mr. Ralph:* We know ma and we will definitely pay as soon as possible. I’m still sourcing for it, in a short time, I’II definitely pay up for the both of them.

*Mrs. Ralph:* Please ma, just give us little time to source for it, we will surely pay for it as soon as possible.

*Mrs. Vera:* Okay no problem. And Moreover, Where is Donna?

                       

Donna shows up immediately Mrs. Vera asks after him

*Mrs. Ralph:* O se Omo ale (You’re not a bastard)

*Mrs. Vera:* I’II like you to watch over Donna very well because he plays too much. I don’t think he has a plan for his future. He doesn’t read, and WAEC exam is in two month's time from now. Please, I’II like you to sit him down and speak with him as parents and as mentors.

*Mrs. Ralph:* Okay ma, thanks and I promise that you will start seeing changes in him 

Discussion was still ongoing inside between Mrs. Vera, in collaboration with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph.

                         

After some minute they finish discussing, Mrs. Vera stands to leave ushered out by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph. As they accompany her out, they bid her goodnight.

*OSCAR’S PLACE AT NIGHT*

                     

Oscar speaking in his room

*Oscar:* Wow! Today’s match was indeed a big success. Thanks to Jah! (God)

                     

After a while he brings out his book where he writes his plans for his future as he skims through.

He reads. 

Most of valuable things, which I follow in my daily life’s, are

*Time*. In reality, time is the only valuable currency on the planet. It’s the only currency with intrinsic value. I’II never plays with my time because it’s a free gift to us humans.

*Intellect*. My faculty of thinking and reasoning about my life and future.

*Study*. To become a successful person in life, I must acquire knowledge on a daily basis.

*Courage*. Not to be afraid or back down from challenges that come my way on the road to success.

*Love:* Love is a profound and caring affection towards someone. I must keep showing affection to people.

*Happiness:* I must work hard to become prosperous so as to splash happiness on my parent’s lives.

                    

Oscar keeps glancing through again and again. He then brings out his note to read properly.

             

Reading continues.  *Curtain falls.*
