EPISODE 2
Dolce and Donna both arrived home to meet their parents in the sitting room.
Donna was still wroth with his twin sister for
calling him a retarded person.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph were inside watching ‘The Johnsons’, a family series programme on Africa magic on Gotv. Donna began operating his cell phone. Precisely, he was having a chat with his friend, Oscar, on Whatsapp, while Dolce was lying down on their three set sofa chair, reading.
Mrs. Dolce: I love this programme “The Johnsons Family series’’ (Laughs)
Mr. Dolce: Same as I. It's really interesting.
They both kept mute as they focused more attentively on the programme.
DONNA ON WHATSAPP
Donna was on whatsapp having a chat with his friend, Oscar.
Oscar: Oh Boy! Match dey this evening oh! And nah immense betting them go put on am (Boy there’s a match in the evening, while an immense betting will placed on it)
Donna: Nah lie oh! You dey whine me? (It’s a lie. Are you whining me?)
Oscar: Why I go dey whine you, nah only generator them dey whine, or you be generator? (Why will i whine you, it’s only a generator set they roll)
Donna: You dey craze (laughs) when will that be?
Oscar: Na 5pm oh! I’II like you to be a participant oh!
Donna: Okay no problem. I go show up. (I’II show up)
Oscar: You know say you sabi play well and abeg no late come (You know that you know how to play well and please don’t come late)
Donna: Okay, You self know your master for football.
Oscar: Which person master you be? I just dey whine your status. (whose person's master are you, I’m just whining your status)
Donna: Nah lie! (It’s a lie)
Oscar: Okay, I’d like to go offline now so as to get prepared for the match.
Donna: Okay no problem.
Oscar: Later things nah, bad boy. (later things bad boy)
Donna: You sabi the best person. (You know the best person)
Oscar: Bye.
Donna: Okay, Bye.
Whatsapp chat ends between Oscar and Donna.
INSIDE THE SITTING ROOM
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph are still watching their programme as Dolce keeps reading on the three set sofa chair.
After a while of silence Dolce stands up as she calls Donna
Dolce: Donna.
He looks at her but doesn't respond
Dolce: Donna
No response as he keeps pretending to be operating his phone.
Immediately Mrs. Ralph looks back as she speaks.
Mrs. Ralph: Donna are you not the one your sister is calling?
Donna: I can’t hear her.
Mr. Ralph: You can’t hear her and your Mum and I heard her clearly.
Dolce: He won’t answer me.
Donna looks unconcerned as she continues speaking.
Finally, Dolce begins explaining everything that transpired between her and Donna that afternoon to her parents.
Immediately Dolce finishes speaking Mrs. Ralph speaks
Mrs. Ralph: Ehn! Ehn!! So, that's the reason why you are keeping malice with your sister?
Donna: Mum. I’m not keeping malice with her.
Dolce: You aren’t keeping malice with me, yet you outpaced me while coming home today and still decided to turn me to a barking dog.
Donna: You didn't call me louder.
Mrs. Ralph: Why are you doing this to yourself? She loves you as your twin, that was the reason why she was so passionate about your future.
Mr. Ralph: Donna, what’s wrong with you? Can’t your sister advice you any longer again? Or why are you always nonchalant about your life and future.
Mr. Ralph continues
Mr. Ralph: You see a person who cares about your future and you aren’t happy enough. If I’ve gotten someone like your twin sister when I was a young guy like you, seriously I would have probably advanced than this.
He continues
Mr. Ralph: Do you think that, me not going to work frequently like before gives me joy? No it doesn't! I felt bad whenever i see how things is going on with me and that’s why I decided to train you and your twin sister to the very height that one can aspire in life. Though, I’m not rich and I don’t have my own personal house that i built but building a house isn't my priority. Your education and how you will both triumph in life is what I’m always after.
He continues
Mr. Ralph: Education is the best legacy a parent can ever give to a child. That’s why I tried every possible best to do all I can for you and your sister to go to higher institution.
Mr. Ralph: Donna, I and your mother gave birth to you both and we can never mislead you to the wrong part. Always pay attention to your twin sister whenever she is talking to you because she has always wants the best for both of you and i prays she continues.
Donna: Thanks sir. (He prostrates)
Dolce: Thanks sir. (She Kneels)
Mr. Ralph: That’s my children.
Mr and Mrs. Ralph focus on their Johnsons Family series programme.
However, Dolce walks up to Donna to apologize for calling him a retarded person
Dolce: I’m sorry Donna.
Donna: Indeed I felt bad with what you said to me this afternoon.
Dolce: I know dear and I wanted you to feel bad so you could know that life is a serious place to make use of every single second not to talk of minute. And I promise never to do such again.
She continues
Dolce: But anyway I’m deeply sorry and remember you are my twin brother and twins never fight each other. (Laughs)
Donna: Okay have heard you.
Dolce: Thanks dear, I love you.
Donna: Love you too.
Discussion between Dolce and Donna and their parents start as they all gist while watching the “The Johnsons’’.
IN THE EVENING
It’s time for Donna to go and play football as he does occasionally. He was brooding on how to tell his parents that he wants to go and play football. He began thinking aloud.
Donna: Agh! How will I do it now?
Donna: Will I be missing out in today’s match?
Donna: Today match which involves so much money?
Donna: Agh! NO! No!! No!!! I can’t wait to be there.
Donna: But how should i go about it?
Donna: Should I go before them and tell them where I’m going?
Donna: Won’t they scold me?
Donna: Won’t they say harsh words as me today?
Donna: Agh! What should I do?
He looks at the time and it is exactly 4:30PM and he has to arrive at field before 5PM.
Donna: Agh! In 30minute time now the match will commence. Won’t I be found wanting there?
Donna ponders as he comes to a conclusion. He is going to ask Dolice to lie on his behalf that he will like to get his note from his friends.
Dolce agreed with his terms as she walks to the sitting room to meet her parents as she discussed with them.
Dolce: Dad and Mum, I want to send Donna on an errand to our classmate to collect my note from her.
Donna as a sharp boy speaks as if he doesn’t wanna go!
Donna: Agh! I don’t feel like going, Can’t you go?
Dolce: No, You know it will be late before I come back home. I’II be preparing food for dinner, which means I must definitely be at home so as to do the cooking on time.
Donna: Agh! And I don’t feel like going.
Dolce: Please Donna.
Mrs. Ralph: Please Donna, help your twin sister to collect her note.
Donna: Okay ma, I've heard you ma.
Dolce: Thanks dear
Donna rushes out of the house feeling ecstatic that Dolce helped him to accomplish his wish to participate in the day’s match.
He walks down the road to the field with glee. He increases his pace.
Meanwhile, few meters away from the field, Donna comes across Mrs. Vera. He is shocked.
the curtain falls.
