TIME EPISODE 1

TIME
An Intriguing drama series from the stable of Emacotink Organization written by Farounbi Segun Samuel  (Stam) and  Endorsed by Akinrinola  Tosin Emmanuel (Emacot)

EPIGRAPH

Time is very important in our lives and it plays a significant role. Our whole life revolves around time. We should respect time and also understand the value of time because the fragments of time gone can never come back. It’s better to follow and respect time instead of regretting afterward.

Time is valuable because once you throw it out through the window it’s totally gone. A mistake committed can be forgiven but not forgotten and life goes on.

A lot of people believe money is their most important resource but I think they’re misguided. Their most important resource is time. You can get money through various avenues but once time is gone, it’s gone forever; you can’t buy more or borrow more, so time is a limited resource that expires every day.

Therefore, Time is so much stronger and more powerful than everything else in this world. It may destroy a lazy person as well as strengthen a hard working person. Cherish every minute of your life, always listen to your heart and check if the things surrounding you have true value.

EPISODE 1

Dolce was a bookaholic whose ideology about life was a substantial one. Her core values in life were extremely high matched with tremendous determination to uphold them.

Dolce had an identical twin sibling, Donna; a female and a male child. The only children born to Mr and Mrs Ralph.

Donna and Dolce were both in the same class at 15 years of age. Donna loved to play around without drawing a concise plan for his future, while Dolce's ambition was to be great in life. Though, they were classmates, Dolce was more sound and intelligent than her twin brother, Donna. she was a curious child and loved exposing herself to frequent reading, while Donna was a lot less like her.

AT TUTORIAL LESSON

Dolce and Donna are both at the tutorial lesson preparing for their West African Examination Council (WAEC) exam.

They were both attending a private secondary school until they got to their senior Secondary school 3 first term. Their parents' business wasn't lucrative any longer and they had to change school.

After a particular day's tutorial lesson, Mrs. Vera, their tutorial teacher calls Donna and Dolce to have a discussion with them.

Dolce and Donna walk inside her office as she speaks.

Mrs. Vera: You can both have your seat.

Donna and Dolce: Thanks ma.

Mrs. Vera: It’s a pleasure. How are you?

Donna and Dolce:  We’re fine ma.

Mrs. Vera:  That’s good. My purpose for calling the both of you here is just to have some discussion with you.

Dolce:  Okay ma.

Mrs. Vera:  Where are your parents?

Dolce:  They are at home.

Mrs. Vera:  okay. I’d like to see them.

Donna:  Okay ma. Hope no problem?

Mrs. Vera:  Not at all.

Dolce:  Okay ma.

Mrs. Vera:  I see a better and brighter future ahead of you.

Mrs. Vera:  Dolce I love your brilliance. Keep it up, and I pray it leads you to triumph.

Dolce:  Amen! Thanks ma.

Mrs. Vera:  (faces Donna) Donna, seriously speaking...to be candid with you, I will tell you today that your aren’t serious with your education.

You’re just too playful for my liking. Take a look at your sister, Dolce. Can’t you see how brilliant she is? She has always been among the best students of this tutorial lesson ever since it was established. I wish not to have disclosed this but I have to, so that you could sit tight and take a good step towards a good future. Look at your attitude to your education and your twin sister's attitude. Ponder and tell me which is better?

Donna remains silent and quiet as Mrs. Vera continues

Mrs. Vera:  You can’t talk? You failed to give response just because you know that you aren’t taking your future seriously.

Success in life depends on education. You just have to change your way of life, when you get home have a rethink of how you want your future to be, study those things you think won’t benefit your future and leave them.

I want you both to triumph that is the reason I take you as my children.

Dolce:  Thank you ma. God will reward you abundantly.

Donna remains speechless just because he was touched by Mrs. Vera’s words.

Mrs. Vera:  Donna, I want you to ponder more about your life and future, that’s the reason I shot at you like that.

Donna and Dolce, (She calls) I’II want you to focus and be determined,  looking at where you would love to be in the next 15years.

If I may ask, how old are you?

Dolce:  We’re just 15years ma.

Donna still felt bad because her words touched him more.

Mrs. Vera:  Better...that’s good. In 15 years time, where would you be? What would you be? How would your life be? I want you to set your goals ahead, support it with prayers and your own commitment towards achieving it with full determination.

I pray the lord will surely make you great.

Dolce:  Amen

Donna:  Amen (In a low voice)

Mrs. Vera:  (faces Donna) Donna, I’m not here to throw abusive words at you, because I've seen changes in your attitude ever since I started speaking about you. I just wish to advise you like my own son and daughter.

I’II want you to have a rethink of your life and I pray the lord will help you with all your endeavours to success in life.

Donna and Dolce:  Amen ma.

Dolce:  Thanks very much ma. We’re really grateful for your words of encouragement. You are indeed a hero.

Mrs. Vera:  It’s a pleasure and thanks for the compliment. (Laughs)

Okay...alright. This is where we would draw the curtain. I would not want you to get home late. So, I will like to free you now.

Donna and Dolce:  Thank you ma.

Mrs. Vera:  when you get home send my regards to your parents and tell them that I’d like to see them.

Dolce and Donna:  Okay ma, we will.

Mrs. Vera:  Make sure you put every word I’ve spoken with you today in your left hand and never eat with it.

Dolce:  Okay ma.

Donna:  Thanks ma.

Dolce and Donna:  Bye ma.

Mrs. Vera:  Bye my dears and do have a wonderful day ahead.

Donna and Dolce:  Thanks ma.

       Dolce and Donna walk home.

ON THEIR WAY HOME

Dolce and Donna walk home and begin recapping what was said to them by Mrs. Vera, their tutorial teacher.

Dolce:  Donna, hope you hear what Mrs. Vera discussed with us?

Donna: Yeah! I heard everything she said.

Dolce:  She said for you to be successful in life you have to focus more on your education.

Donna:  I heard that as well.

Dolce:  Do you also remember she said that you have to look at what is distracting you from your education and throw them away so it won’t become a hindrance to your future?

Donna:  Yeah! But wait Dolce, am I not doing things rightly as they ought to be done?

Dolce:  You aren’t. You focus more on playing. You fail to read. And you lazy around playing football.

Donna:  Can’t I make way as a footballer? Or who said footballing isn’t an occupation?

Dolce:  I know you can become a footballer and they get well paid. What I’m saying is that, you have to focus as well on your education because if you have your education it will make you stand out among your colleagues.

Donna:  Hmm! What pains me most was when she said that I don’t read. Don’t I read?

Dolce:  To be candid with you, you aren’t reading and that makes you become retarded.

Donna:  (Donna gets angry) Me, retarded? You called me a retarded person? See my life! My identical twin sister calls me a retarded person (Donna is stunned). Agh!

Dolce:  No! No!! No!!! I don’t mean it like that.

Donna:  So, how do you mean it? Or do you wants to pass more abusive words on me again? No problem, since you said I’m a retarded person I’d like us to part ways from here. Thanks.

Donna parted ways with Dolce but she kept calling him.

Dolce:  Wait Donna, don’t take this too personal.

Donna:  A retarded person isn’t taking things too personal. (He outpaces her)

Dolce:  Agh! He won’t even try and listen to me. He’s my twin brother and I want the best for him.

Donna outpaces Dolce by some meters as Dolce soliloquizes behind till the curtain falls.
